The total area of the pools is 3000 m2. The complex has 25 indoor and outdoor pools. There is also a natural swimming lake with an area of 540 m² and a water depth of 1.35 m. The Obermain Therme complex was opened in 1986.
A free water exercise program is offered to visitors.
Indoor pools:
The vital pool is a 270 m² salt water pool. Water temperature 34 ° C. Salinity – 3.5%. This pool has a carbon dioxide whirlpool and stand and sit jets.
The adventure pool is also large with an area of 170 m². The temperature and salinity are the same – 34 ° C and 3.5%. This pool has jets that generate water jets, a light grotto and a bathing channel.
The brine pool – the saltyest pool. Its size is 50 m², the temperature 36 ° C, the salt solution 12%. Be careful when you visit it. If you have even small wounds, they will be very painful in such salty water. The water in it is so dense that you will swim in it as if in weightlessness. The human body does not drown in such salty water.
Two whirlpools – small pools of 4 and 7 m². Water temperature 35 ° C, salinity 3.5%.
The freshwater pool is small and only 18 m² in size. Fresh water is heated to 36 ° C in it.
According to official treatment reports, the salt water from this thermal spring is particularly beneficial for the spine and joints as well as for rheumatic diseases. In addition, water from Bad Staffelstein’s thermal springs can help stabilize blood pressure and strengthen the heart and circulation. The salt bath promotes skin health, relieves symptoms of stress and fatigue, and promotes deep, restful sleep.
Obermain outdoor pools:
The vital pool – 180 m², water temperature 34 ° C, salinity 3.5%. Fountains, massage jets for the neck and body.
The adventure pool – the same in terms of properties, also has a flow channel and a waterfall.
The active pool is the largest pool in the complex. Its area is 375 m² and the temperature is 28 ° C. The salt content is only 1.5%. You can swim for a long time in this pool. In addition, it also has massage jets for the neck and body.
“”Whirlpool”” – a small pool with an area of 20 m² and a temperature of 36 ° C. The salinity of the water – 3.5%.
Three circular pools (“three whirlpools”) cascaded. Area – each 20 m². The temperature and salinity are the same.
The Obermain Therme has pools and Kneipp paths. The Kneipp Walk is an alternating cold and hot water tank with a floor covered with stones of different sizes. When walking in such pools, blood circulation accelerates, which has an effect on strengthening the heart and the walls of blood vessels. Immunity and metabolic processes are activated. With the bloodstream, the cells receive much more oxygen, which improves regeneration and slows down the aging process.
In Obermain Therme, near the Kneipp basins, the temperature drops between 3 and 14 degrees Celsius. The pool area is 15 m² and 30 m².
In addition, 9 different types of sauna and two steam baths are open to visitors in the Obermain Therme complex. There is also an inhalation room, a salt room and three recreation areas. The SaunaLand is a textile-free area. Please take off your swimwear as soon as you have passed the entrance to SaunaLand. The German Sauna Society has repeatedly awarded Obermainbäder the five-star premium seal of the highest quality.”
